Silver Metal Clay contains millions of tiny fine silver particles (mixed with an eco friendly binder and water); when fired with a torch or in a kiln, the binder burns away and the silver particles solidify and become 99.9% fine silver. It's magical with a bit of alchemy!
In this 3-hour taster experience, you will learn how to handle the clay, roll it out, design, texture and shape it, dry and sand it and set a small stone or other embellishment, to make pendants, earrings or charms. You will design your own pieces (2 small pieces), using our samples and materials to give you inspiration, or you may come with your own ideas. Finally, you will fire your piece using a hand-torch and polish and finish it off with a jump-ring.
You can leave the workshop wearing your own hand crafted piece of fine silver jewellery or as a gift for friends and family!
This complete beginner's workshop is designed for people with little or no experience of jewellery making or silver clay, with a maximum of 4 people per workshop. It is held in a home-studio in London N8, in an informal, relaxed and calm atmosphere.
It's a really fun, uplifting experience that is totally absorbing and mindful - quite simply - a really great way to enjoy your creative side.
Sessions are guided by an experienced metal-clay jewellery designer-maker with Levels 1 and 2, Art Clay Silver Diploma certification.
Cost is £85 per person (max 4 people) including all materials (except for earring findings and chains which can be purchased).
Please email on contact page or below if you would like to pre-register your interest in a workshop (on line coming soon), would love to make something specific or to enquire about commissioning a piece.
New workshops are being developed for those wanting to learn more and/or to start making at home.
